A window should open in the lower right corner of the screen. At the bottom of the window, there will be a field labeled Log File. Make sure that this is set to File. This will make X-Plane create a new file for you.
X-Plane now saves the log file on your computer. When you next start the aircraft, your log file will open automatically. This log file can be opened in any text editor, and you can read through it to see how the aircraft performs.
X-Plane can simulate flight. When you press the Simulation button on the Location box, your view will first change to the Airplane window, and then the Airplane view will change to the simulation view. You can see the airplane's current pitch, roll, and yaw values as well as its position on the screen.
As you may have noticed from the above screenshot, the plane will not actually land in any particular location. They are just the start point of the flight. The aircraft will fly out of the cockpit, through the opening in the top of the plane, and over the nearby field and land there. If you are flying a small aircraft over an airport, you can choose to land on the runway or let the plane land in the grass. In the first screenshot, the plane is landing on the grass.
Finally, if you have a SIM, select the appropriate SIM start mode and type in the identifier of your SIM. Then click the Reset button in the lower right to start a new flight. If you start with the default settings, the aircraft will fly out of the cockpit, through the opening in the top of the plane, then over the nearby field and land. If you change the settings, the aircraft will go through the same motions but will make the transition to the new start mode before it lands. See the screenshot at the bottom of this page to see what this looks like.
Now that you are familiar with how to change the location and the aircraft type, you can change the way your planes look. Select Edit Current Aircraft from the Location box and scroll down to Plane Type. Click the Edit button next to your aircraft type and then make your changes. 827ec27edc
