Luke 1:26-30 ESV
Gabriel—the angel who stands before the Presence of God, a direct messenger (Luke 1:19) comes to Mary.
·How does Gabriel greet Mary?
At this greeting, Mary was greatly troubled. This is a strong description that carries the idea of moving back and forth between emotions, agitated across the board.
What emotions do you think Mary experienced?
In verse 30, Gabriel tells her two things. What does he tell her?
Why?
What is troubling your heart today?
What is agitating your spirit?
Because of Jesus, God’s words through Gabriel are the same for you.
“Greetings, O favored one. Don’t be afraid.”
Sit with this salutation, this message from God, today, tomorrow, and this week. Let it wash over you and fill you. Let these words soothe the trouble and the agitation.
